GTA 6 fans are currently hyped to an unimaginable level, and why not? Rockstar Games recently confirmed the next open-world installment in the iconic series. Plus, a reveal trailer is also set to come out in December. However, there’s still something mysterious about the next Grand Theft Auto the studio hasn’t really shed light upon – the title.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the next big sandbox game from Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and Rockstar. Coming after the most successful GTA title, GTA V, it’s got huge boots to fill. Meanwhile, there’s an inevitable uncertainty hovering over the next game. Fans have declared it to be ‘GTA 6’ but is it really going to be the case at all?

Will GTA 6 be the real title of the next game from Rockstar?
Rockstar’s co-founder and president Sam Houser had recently shared a post on X (formerly Twitter). It came right before Take-Two’s Q2 earnings call. In his message, Sam talked about the memorable journey of the studio while giving the fans amazing games to cherish over the course of more than two decades. Moreover, he also thanked everyone for supporting his team and, most importantly, the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.

And, of course, he ended his message with the awaited announcement. While sharing the information about GTA V’s successor, he wrote that Rockstar “will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto” in early December. Now, what’s really interesting to note here is the name used by the president.
Sam Houser could have easily namedropped the game by its expected title, GTA 6, which is surely what it is going to be. However, he didn’t do that at all. Plus, it’s something Rockstar had done previously as well.
For the uninitiated, there was a message shared by Rockstar last year, following the biggest leak in gaming history. The studio had written a long post to address the issues regarding all the alleged clips leaked online. In that message too, it had clearly mentioned ‘the next Grand Theft Auto’ as its ongoing project. And now, the same term has been used once again in the recent post.
Is there a plan to reboot the series? Perhaps like NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1?
That’s just a theory for now, though. Nothing can be said beyond the point of making speculations at the moment.
Expected content for the GTA 6 trailer
The developing team hasn’t really confirmed anything regarding the storyline itself. Thanks to the rumors, though, we know that the ‘next Grand Theft Auto’ will feature two main protagonists named Jason and Lucia. The latter will mark the first time for the open-world series to have a leading female character.
Beyond this, the rest of the details are completely under wraps. Some fans believe that a few of the iconic characters from previous GTA installments may come back. However, that’s something we’ll have to wait to find out.
As for more details, like location, characters, and most importantly, the title, all the answers will be revealed after the very first trailer comes out next month.
