During a recent PlayStation Showcase, WB Games and Rocksteady decided to give fans their first look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game is a third-person shooter with live service elements. This superhero title was set to release sometime this year.

Fans got around six minutes of gameplay footage to decide if they would like to play this upcoming game or not. And it appears the fans have spoken, and WB Games and Rocksteady have taken a decision due to that response.

Rocksteady Games came into the limelight when they developed Batman: Arkham Asylum, an action-adventure game starring DC’s Dark Knight. This game was released to much fanfare and became an unexpected success.

This success instantly turned Rocksteady into a triple-A developer. Eventually, they released Batman: Arkham City, which was larger and even darker than its prequel. It dealt with some heavy themes, and it was not afraid to kill off characters for the sake of the story.

Arkham City was an even larger success than Asylum, which is why Rocksteady once again came back with a Batman game. This time it was Batman: Arkham Knight, their most ambitious project until then.

After numerous speculations and alleged cancellations of other games, Rocksteady decided to start working on a triple-A live service game. This game was Suicide Squad. They even released a cinematic trailer for it, which looked promising enough.

After three years of the announcement, fans only recently got a glimpse at its gameplay, and they did not seem to like what they saw. Now, as per Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, that response has pushed WB Games and Rocksteady to delay this game.

It was earlier set to launch in May 2023; now, once again, it does not have a launch date. One must note that this game would also be the last project that legendary Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy worked on before he passed away last year.

Fans are unsurprised by this delay

Fans of the game who were previously willing to give this game a chance are not unsurprised about its delay. They can still be seen complaining about its generic gameplay. Some are hopeful that this delay will be fruitful, while others are skeptical.
