For the uninitiated, the first actual Venom movie was released in 2018. It featured actor Tom Hardy in the title role of Eddie Brock, a journalist who is struggling in life while trying to make things work. During an unexpected encounter, he ends up coming into contact with an alien symbiote. Eventually, he turns into Venom, who happens to be Spidey’s arch-nemesis in the comics.

Speaking of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, its version of Venom is played by famous actor Tony Todd. So far, his performance as Peter’s iconic enemy has amassed huge appreciation from gaming enthusiasts as well as Marvel fans.

This sentiment was evident from the recent reactions of hardcore Venom followers on social media. While replying to a post asking them to choose the ‘prime Venom’ between the PS5 game and Sony’s live-action movies, most of the users had an interesting take to share.

It looks like a lot of fans are impressed by both iterations. On the X platform (formerly Twitter), some users mentioned that both versions are epic in their own way. But they feel like Spider-Man 2’s Venom could’ve received just a little more screen time.

All things considered, it’s pretty clear that fans are in love with both versions, and why not? Maybe it’s also because two of the best-known actors in Hollywood present both of them.

The anti-hero isn’t the only attraction in the latest blockbuster from Insomniac. The PS5 exclusive also features the likes of other famous villains such as Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, Vulture, Lizard, Mr. Negative, and Wraith. All of them pose a serious threat to the duo of Peter Parker and Miles Morales.

Moreover, the game consists of improved movement mechanics for Peter and Miles. Now, both of them have wingsuits too. In short, they can fly like Superman inside the open-world map, which is double the size of 2018’s first installment. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now available on PlayStation 5.
