During the recently concluded The Game Awards event, many industry giants turned up to showcase what they are working on for the future in terms of offering new titles. On the other hand, some of them utilized the big opportunity to surprise the fans with unexpected reveals, like CD Projekt RED with its upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion.

While it was already known that Cyberpunk 2077 will get a paid DLC in 2023, there were no further details available regarding the main content and characters, except for Sasha Grey, who will play a DJ from the in-game station. However, the new teaser shown during The Game Awards ended up shocking many people, featuring Hollywood star Idris Elba.

Who is Idris Elba playing in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC?

Prior to Idris Elba, several other renowned Hollywood celebrities have been a part of the open-world RPG from CD Projekt RED. John Wick fame and popular actor Keanu Reeves is there already in the game as Johnny Silverhand. His character was very crucial in the campaign mission apart from the protagonist ‘V’. Moreover, Johnny has also become a fan favorite name in the two years since Cyberpunk’s launch.

Now that Idris Elba is going to join the universe of Cyberpunk 2077, many fans will be curious to know about his role in next year’s Phantom Liberty DLC. Fortunately, the devs have already revealed some details regarding the actor’s involvement in the game.

In the second teaser trailer for the DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 showed Idris Elba as Solomon Reed. His character is an FIA Agent for the New United States of America. According to CDPR, Solomon is the only person players can trust while jumping in the Phantom Liberty expansion “to help them fulfill an impossible mission of espionage and survival.”

The spy-thriller DLC will also feature new districts in the Night City. Plus, Keanu will be back as well to play Johnny Silverhand. It implies that players will be able to witness two star-studded appearances in the ambitious open-world title.

It will be interesting to see how the upcoming expansion will be received by the fans. It will only be available on the next-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, apart from the PC platform.
