In the game, when Ellie and Joel arrive in Pittsburgh, they were ambushed by hunters, who attack travelers to take their supplies. While fleeing the hunters, the duo stumbles upon a fellow survivor duo, Sam and Henry. During these events in the game, the players learn that the hunters have a leader, but they never meet that person.

Ellie and Joel were similarly approached by hunters in the latest episode of the HBO adaption, although this time, it was in Kansas City instead of Pittsburgh. We also met Henry and Sam at the end of the episode. But the most intriguing aspect was meeting Kathleen, the mysterious leader of the hunters in the game.

The fans never got to learn more about the hunters and their perspectives in the game. But the creators have stated that this adaptation will present the world from other characters’ perspectives. We also learned in the fourth episode that Kathleen is hunting for Henry. She might go to some great heights, as we witnessed her shooting a doctor in rage.
