Ever since its debut in the late 90s, the Grand Theft Auto saga has only witnessed an astronomical rise in its popularity. Thanks to multiple blockbuster installments, it has established a vast fandom on a global scale. So it only makes sense why every hardcore lover of this open-world universe is overhyped for the next major offering. Based on the rumors, it is being colloquially referred to as GTA 6.

Following the massive leak that erupted last September, certain crucial details are already out in the open. What’s more important than anything else is the fact that it will be the first-ever GTA game to have a female character in lead role. No, it won’t replace someone but will be one of a pair of leading characters.

Who will be the character of Lucia in GTA 6?

Prior to the inevitable leak of 2022, media outlet Bloomberg had published an article on this project. What was interesting to notice in the piece was the intel about a female protagonist. Thanks to the leaked clips, later, we got to know the name of this character, who’s allegedly known as Lucia.

Lucia is rumored to be a Latina and a partner of the male character, Jason. Currently, many reports have claimed that Lucia will be based on Bonnie. The latter was a real-life, notorious bank robber. Between the period of 1931 and 1934, Bonnie and her partner Clive became an infamous American couple around the time of the Great Depression.

Who is the voice actress of Lucia?

While it’s yet to be confirmed by the developers themselves, the character is said to be voiced by Alexandra C. Echavarri Lecároz. The Puerto Rican actress’ name got attached to GTA 6 due to a crucial detail mentioned in her resume. On ActorsAccess website, the resume of Alexandra reveals that she’s associated with a ‘video game’ right now.

The project mentioned, above, tells that she’s playing a principal character in a title from Take 2 Productions. Now that’s not a difficult puzzle to decode for any Grand Theft Auto fan.

As of now, there’s no news available on the official reveal for the upcoming game. Some of the insiders believe a teaser trailer could arrive later this year or during The Game Awards 2023. It will be interesting to see how Rockstar plans to proceed from now on.
