YouTube superstar MrBeast carries the persona of giving something back to the community. Backed by over 135 million YouTube subscribers, the star adopts interesting and wholesome ways to gift the community in unimaginable ways. Be it giving away half a million dollars in a challenge or doing philanthropic efforts, he never ceases to surprise the community. However, he did get some criticism regarding a heartful deed.

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson is undoubtedly emerging as one of the prospectus personalities in the community. Owning businesses like Feastables and MrBeast Burger, he has made a name for himself in the community. But with a popular name does come a grain of criticism which was quite prevailing after he released his video, “1,000 Blind People See For The First Time.”

MrBeast tries doing good but gets criticized instead

In the respective video, MrBeast helped 1,000 people around the globe in curing blindness. From helping one person to drive, to giving a father the sight-restoring gift to see his son, the video warmed the viewers with the change that this action of the YouTuber brought. While cheers for him roared all over the internet, some people attached the thought of using emotions for views with this video.

The hatred went to the extent that people even gave a ‘demonic’ notion to his efforts. Having stark contrast to his other videos, MrBeast tried a new approach with this video. However, unlike his other videos, this one did get a criticizing note from some people.

Curing 1000 People’s Blindness Was a Way to Fame for MrBeast?!

MrBeast, having humungous popularity in the community on all social media platforms, erases the notion that this effort carried the motive to earn fame. If anything, this was something that he dearly wanted to do, and had even voiced his motive behind it. In the midst of the criticism, he tweeted the following.

Also, a patient cured from this project did put in assuring words for MrBeast by saying that this effort “was from the heart.” Thus, this makes clear he did it as it was his way to propagate good doing in the community by having adequate resources. This erases the doubt of one of the top YouTubers doing this wholesome act for fame.

Dr. Jeffrey Levenson couldn’t believe his own eyes

Accompanying MrBeast in this project was Dr. Jeffrey Levenson. Dr. Levenson had taken a vital responsibility for carrying out this project, giving resources, and bringing in patients as well. He also voiced the fact that about half of the blindness in the world could be cured just by a 10-minute surgery. Surprisingly, he had almost hung up on MrBeast for this project.

Luckily, the two joined hands and put in the effort to help cure blindness. While putting in good words for MrBeast, Dr. Levenson said, “If MrBeast can light a fire, and if we can get governmental and private support behind it, we can end half of all the blindness in the world.” Surely, he wasn’t an exception to the audience already stunned by Jimmy’s efforts.

Fans support him with all they got, they love MrBeast afterall

Whether it be the opening of the MrBeast Burger’s first physical restaurant or him surpassing PewDiePie on YouTube, the fans have never left the side of the young star. Likewise, the fans stood in solidarity with MrBeast while he was receiving criticism from the community.

Above all, it is important to absorb the fact that this was not just a ‘one-time thing’ that MrBeast did. Evidently, the star has a whole YouTube channel and website dedicated to his philanthropic works such as providing meals, shelter, and human welfare acts.

MrBeast Is Not Evil, Just a Bit…

Well, MrBeast is not anywhere near ‘evil’ but he is human. And as a human, he does look toward the brighter side of the things that one likes to say ‘the silver lining’. The uproaring criticism did spread his video like wildfire on the internet. And in the end, one could assume that this landed the YouTuber more views than he might have expected.

As reported by the organization Insider, addressing the criticism, Dr. Levenson did say, “I think he’s probably proud of the controversy.” He also stated, “There’s nothing wrong with Jimmy benefiting from ‘the good he’s done in the world,’ I think it’s a wonderful thing.” Even though MrBeast is not evil, the extra punch that the video got did spread his message widely.

Surprisingly, MrBeast has the talent to understand his audience to the depth and knows how the people would react. Admitting on the Lex Fridman podcast that he does multiple takes unless he knows that the audience would be enticed by it, he seems to have an idea of the public response.

While appearing on the TMG podcast, he admitted to having ‘dumbed down’ his videos in terms of giveaway prizes as people would recognize them to be fake. He said, “You know actually what’s interesting is the bigger the videos get the less people think they’re real. So like if I give away a million dollars in a video I’ll get hundreds of thousands of comments and tweets like, ‘This is fake clearly this is fake no YouTuber could afford it.”

Therefore, one could absorb the fact that something of this sort did happen when MrBeast helped in curing the blindness of 1,000 people around the globe, as questions were raised in the public.

It’s not the end for MrBeast yet, just the beginning

After a blockbuster start in 2023, the YouTuber has the complete desire to not put his foot off the throttle. If anything, he looks forward to accelerating his efforts and achieving endeavors in the future. Vouching for his work in 2023, he tweeted, “Our videos this year are going to blow your mind, got some big stuff planned :).”

Alongside this, he has also kept another target under his radar. And that is surpassing T-Series on YouTube and avenging his idol, PewDiePie. For it to happen, the fans would have to wait a little more as that would be a historical feat that would require a reasonable time. Nevertheless, MrBeast’s actions do tell that he is loading up for a marvelous ride in the future.
