The Hogwarts Legacy created a much positive fervor ever since its announcement in the 2020 PlayStation 5 showcase. The game is supposed to be an open-world RPG based in the Harry Potter world. However, the game has been now further delayed to 2023 by the publisher Warner Brothers Games.

Why is Hogwarts Legacy being delayed further?
Hogwarts Legacy, ever since its announcement, has been one of the most anticipated games within the community, especially for the Potterheads. The game was initially planned to release in 2021. However, the developer Avalanche Software later informed that the game’s release has been pushed to 2022. While we are all here waiting for its release, it seems like the game is going to be further delayed into 2023.
Host of the Sacred Symbols podcast, Colin Moriarty, in their latest episode has said, “[Hogwarts Legacy] isn’t coming out this year”. He further went on to note that there might be some internal trouble in the studios that might be the cause of the delay. Moriarty claims that this news comes from his reliable industry sources. However, it is safe to believe much of it as speculation.
The fans have been left wondering ever since its trailer’s launch and will surely be another reason for disappointment for the anticipating Potterheads. Interesting to note here is that the game’s Twitter account also has not posted any such updates since November 2020.
What can fans expect from Hogwarts Legacy?
The only confirmed thing that is known at the moment is that Hogwarts Legacy is an Open World RPG and will let players create their own characters, customize their avatar accordingly, explore famous locations such as Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley, and experiment with magic potions and spells. Furthermore, the game will also offer a character-inclusive creator as a response to author JK Rowling’s transphobic rumors.
