Every single year, there is one game that stands out, in terms of the hype people have for the title. These titles go beyond just a release, transcending the status a game usually has. However, if the game does not live up to the hype, there is no stopping the fans’ fury. This was quite evident when Cyberpunk 2077 was released.

Its release became a matter of discussion recently when another massively popular title faced similar issues. Following the release of Starfield by Bethesda, one fan questioned why Cyberpunk got hated for having bugs when Starfield did not.

Fan questions gamers’ dual standards when it comes to Bethesda

As most fans may already know, Starfield is one of the biggest releases for Xbox this year. After Microsoft bought Bethesda specifically for the title, gamers knew the title was going to be big. Bethesda gave bits and pieces of information that built up the title for fans, whether it was the ship’s customization or the chance of exploration. However, one fan does not seem on board with the way Starfield glitches feel like they were swept under the rug.

This fan is talking about the NPC T-pose bugs as well as rendering bugs that players saw in Starfield. While there was some conversation about it, it did not go beyond it. Fans did not show up in big numbers on social media platforms to talk about it. The fan feels when it came to Bethesda, gamers were right with bugs like these.

On the other hand, when it came to Cyberpunk, a game that had heads turning before its release was under the firing line for its glitches. It came under a lot of criticism from the community for the numerous glitches it had. With Starfield having similar glitches, is it just a case of bias among gamers?

While some would believe because it is Bethesda, gamers do not find these bugs a problem. However, it simply comes down to the way each game handles. Starfield plays well on the Xbox as well as on PC. Cyberpunk was practically unplayable because it was riddled with glitches. Moreover, the idea that it is a studio-related bias feels exaggerated. CD Projekt Red, the people behind Cyberpunk, has a big fanbase of its own. They have created massively popular titles in the past, with millions of fans.

Fans found the post hilarious, leaving their own explanations to the lackluster justification of bias. That does not mean the user is entirely wrong. It could be issues specific to the user. However, for a large majority of Starfield players, there were barely any incidents like Starfield.
