Battlefield fans aren’t the happiest lot on the block. While the franchise is one of the biggest FPS series out there, not everyone is on the same page about the different titles. For those who’ve been introduced to the franchise through Battlefield 2042, it’s hard to imagine the golden days. Battlefield 3 was one of the most coveted titles in the franchise. However, community members aren’t sure they’d want to see a remaster of the game, given the current scenario.

Remastered titles are often highly looked forward to by fans. With advanced technology, many devs often get back to fan-favorite titles from ages ago to give old fans of the games another chance to relive their greatest moments in all its glory. While such is the case, not all fans want their favorite titles to come back.

Battlefield 1 is often considered the peak of the franchise in terms of immersion. While this title took players back to the horrors of World War 1, it was the modern-day combat style of Battlefields 2, 3, and 4 that brought the community together over shared appreciation. Yet, despite being over 12 years old, fans aren’t interested in seeing DICE and EA Sports having a shot at a BF 3 Remaster right now.

A Reddit discussion has been started to understand how the fans feel in general about seeing a Battlefield 3 Remaster. Compared to Battlefield 2042, the 2011 game still holds a fonder pace among franchise fans. However, given the way modern-day DICE and EA work, many aren’t sure they would feel comfortable giving them a shot at remastering BF3.

The original post highlights that while the remaster might come with better graphics, it will also probably be festered with microtransactions, which have become the norm these days. Fans make their feelings heard

Since the original post went online, fans have queued up to share their thoughts on the matter. For this fan, going back to an old favorite comes with a lot of skepticism and they believe it’s better to steer clear.
