Video games are really the talk of the industry at the moment and it’s been proved this year. Especially by the big-screen adaptations based on some of the most popular IPs in the world. One such film is Sony’s Uncharted, starring Tom Holland, which has surprised everyone with its immense success at the box office.

Uncharted was released earlier this year amidst mixed reviews from the critics. Despite the average critical reactions, the film managed to defy the odds, becoming one of the highest grossing movies of the year. Most of the credit for its record-breaking run goes to Tom Holland’s charismatic performance as Nathan Drake.

Uncharted goes beyond $400 million at the global box office!

The action-adventure film is directed by Ruben Fleischer and is based on the iconic PlayStation series of the same name. In the movie, Tom Holland plays the beloved character of Nathan Drake. He gets recruited by Sullivan (played by Mark Wahlberg) to go up against a corrupt billionaire Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas) and mercenary leader Jo Braddock.

Uncharted’s rest of the cast members include the likes of Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle.

Since its initial release in theaters, Uncharted has been among the top trending films of the year. Apart from swaying the audience, it has also proved that Tom Holland is really an important asset for Sony right now. Firstly, he made a huge impact as Spider-Man in the MCU installments, and now he is spreading his magic as Nathan Drake.

Recently, the official Twitter account for Uncharted revealed that it has now crossed the mark of $400 million globally. It is a huge accomplishment, to say the least, especially being a video game movie. Apart from that, it recently became the 2nd biggest gaming film of all time in the US. Currently, it’s only behind Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Meanwhile, Uncharted fans lauded the film’s latest achievement by showing their excitement for its future sequel.

Uncharted is now available on Blu-Ray and in Digital format.
