Honkai Impact is the first hit of the studio. The game was a hit and piqued the interest of many players. Some of them even migrated to Genshin when the title was released. Comparing these two titles, Genshin sure was the developer’s global hit. But now as Honkai: Star Rail is gearing for release, it may affect the Genshin player base.

The game seems to have taken inspiration from the success of Genshin. The style of the cosmetics and the character design seem largely inspired by Genshin.

Though the game has a different base, that is, the characters are seen to use modern technologies in the video, the game’s appeal seems to match the vibe of Genshin. The very city that Star Rail is based on seems exquisite and seems like a modern render of Liyue and the Jade Chamber.

The pre-registration of Honkai: Star Rail is currently out, and many have tuned in to register for the new RPG title. Currently, 8 million+ people have registered for the game. Genshin, on the other hand, had a little over 3 million pre-registered players. Comparing these two aspects gives the new game an edge over the popular RPG. The game is slated to release on 26/4/2023.

Though Genshin would still be one of the biggest games online, there are chances that Star Rail might pull some of its players. We cannot fully be sure also, as the mechanisms that are offered in the new game are yet to be out. But the released characters seem to be impressive and unique.

If the game takes inspiration from Genshin’s success and molds something even more exquisite, it would surely be a wonder to see. In the meantime, fans can wait in excitement with the hopes that this too becomes an entertaining title.
