Nintendo recently released its financial details about all best-selling games for 2021. Interestingly, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the second-highest selling title for the Switch. Although it’s a very splendid achievement for developers, it’s unfortunate that they are not planning to release major updates for ACNH anymore.

Nintendo plans for Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the future
According to one of the Nintendo Life blogs, “Animal Crossing: New Horizons is officially the best-selling video game in Japan. Sales for the game now total 10 million in Japan alone. The previous record-holder, Super Mario Bros., managed to shift 6.81 million on the Famicom (known as the NES in the west).”

Naturally, after announcing such a colossal achievement, fans are wondering if Nintendo will release a thank you update for its users. Moreover, ACNH recently tweeted two suspicious tweets that are making players curious about the upcoming content for the game. One of the tweets claimed users should be ready to collect new groundhog items from Nook’s Cranny.
Ahh! I still managed to forget an important event—Festivale! This year's party will be on the 28th, so be sure to check Nook's Cranny and the Able sisters' shop for your Festivale items before then. Viva Festivale! I hope I'm not stealing Pavé's thunder… pic.twitter.com/0OoUVtgtF4

Unfortunately, the tweet was very misleading, and players could only find one item at the store. Furthermore, developers announced users can collect Festivale theme items and clothes from Nook’s Cranny and Able Sisters. This is quite surprising as developers are introducing items two weeks earlier before releasing Festivale event which will launch on February 28.

Festivale event is the only holiday event that players have yet to experience twice since ACNH’s release. Moreover, Nintendo has announced new items with every holiday event and fans are expecting the same things from Festivale. Therefore, developers might try to keep all new items a secret that users can receive from Pavé.
