Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a gift that keeps on giving! Debuting yet another Harry Potter title under the Portkey Games umbrella, the publishers announced Harry Potter: Magic Weekend is launching in major regions soon.

Following the announcement trailer, the industry giants have released another video displaying “Behind the Scenes” attributes of the upcoming game to the franchise’s fans. Interestingly, it also answers the million-dollar question: will Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger feature in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened?

Will the original Harry Potter trio return in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened?

Earlier this month, developer NetEase and Portkey games gave fans the first look at the much-awaited title. Magic Awakened will be the fourth android/iOS title in the franchise following the footsteps of other popular games. The game was released in China, Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong, as early as September 09, 2021.

As for the rest of the world, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened will release in 2022. However, the release window of the months to look out for has not been specified yet.

The immersive experience will let players take on their very own wizarding journey as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry along with other heroes of the game, such as Ivy Warrington, Daniel Page, and Cassandra Vole.

Despite the game’s very own storyline, fans can expect to “recognize many of the themes, locations, and faces” in the game, as per Magic Awakened’s head writer, Rob DeBorde. Moreover, while talking about the game’s protagonists, DeBorde stated, “Our heroes mirror another famous trio. But this is not Harry’s story. It’s Ivy’s and Daniel’s and the players.”

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened will take place 10 years after the events of the Harry Potter series, i.e. in 2008. Hence, consisting of an entirely new batch of wizards and new faces amongst a handful of familiar ones.

Beloved characters like Hagrid will often be spotted in the game, whereas Harry, Ron, and Hermione will only make an appearance from time to time.

Well, Potter heads will have to wait here more about the exact details of the game when the publishers and developers reveal their secrets, or in this case, open the chamber of secrets, as we move close to the game’s release.
