Sony confirmed its September 2021 showcase, which makes fans speculate about the numerous prospects for PlayStation 5 players. Fans are hopeful that the showcase might include the God of War sequel after Sony confirmed that the event would feature news from PlayStation Studios.
The stream will run for 40 mins, featuring games from PlayStation Studios and other developers. Following this, other studios that are part of the showcase will present more information.

Updates on God of War
There were no announcements or conversations about God of War’s sequel in previous events and showcases such as E3 2021, Sony’s State of Art, and Gamescom 2021.
God of War was initially scheduled to release in 2021 but got delayed to 2022. Fans are eagerly waiting for a full trailer for this sequel. The title of the sequel is unconfirmed as of yet, but many speculate for “God of War Ragnarok.” An Official word is still awaited on this.

Previously in the State of Play, there was no information on God of War either. However, it was revealed early in July that the upcoming event was registered and would have relevance equivalent to PlayStation’s E3 showcase.

Now that God of War’s narrative has made a shift to Norse mythology, this game would be the second installment that allows us to discover storylines related to the same narrative. Given this is a significantly new shift for the series reboot, fans expect Ragnarok will follow a number of sequels marking a new era in the legacy of God of War.
There are stories that say that the devs of God of War, Santa Monica Studios, are still considering exploring options within the narrative before the ultimate launch of the game.
