Death Stranding 2 was initially announced at The Game Awards of 2022. Hideo Kojima, the founder of Kojima Productions revealed that Death Stranding 2’s trailer has a lot of secrets to redefine the lore of Death Stranding. Although the developers are silent regarding the game’s release date, a few teasers have surfaced having the name of Elle Fanning as the protagonist. Now, once again, players are talking about a new trailer for DS2!

A recent Tweet of Kojima has gone viral hinting to fans about the upcoming Death Stranding 2. This popular video game franchise’s new IP already received many thumbs-ups from the fans. Norman Reedus’ return to the game as Sam brought many excitements as well. 

Kojima’s teaser assures fans about Death Stranding 2

Recently, Hideo Kojima posted two pictures on his Twitter. This picture showed Kojima’s screen with a tomato having the label Rotten Tomatoes on the table. Kojima’s post said- “It’s been a while since I’ve used this editing machine.” This post went viral within minutes assuring fans that a new trailer for Death Stranding 2’s will soon release.

Hideo Kojima is popular for directing video games from franchises like Metal Gear or Death Stranding. Apart from direction, he is known for editing most of his game trailers. Now his tweet about this new editing project left fans scratching their head about a brand-new trailer for Death Stranding 2. Since this year’s Gamescom is expected to be extra grand with Microsoft appearing with the biggest-ever booth at the convention, Kojima’s trailer will surely receive a great platform of viewers. 

Some More Details about the casting in Death Stranding 2

Although not many details have been revealed about this trailer, sources confirmed that Elle Fanning will be featured alongside Shiori Kutsuna. These actors were not present in the previous trailers. Kojima also spoke about doing majority of the voice casting herself for Death Stranding 2- “Since I will be spending [a] very long period of time working with actors and voice actors, I don’t let agencies/agents do casting,” Apart from Norman Reedus, Troy Baker and Lea Seydoux will also likely return in Death Stranding 2. Kojima said that he didn’t choose the voice actors based on their talent but also the balance and coordination with other actors.

Death Stranding 2 will likely release in 2024 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. However, this game might also launch on PC for players.  While fans are already excited with the news, Death Stranding 2’s reception likely depends on the game’s release in the future.
