Multiplayer games have a very unique trait: they have the potential to never end if their developers and publishers decide to never end their service. Other times, the fans are very quick to do it themselves. They simply create their own servers if a game allows such a thing. And sometimes a game that has been closed for a long time gets a new breath thanks to the developers, like Activision reviving the servers for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Fans are overjoyed; they cannot believe that they have finally gotten their favorite game back. This makes one wonder what other games can gain from such a revival. After all, there’s no shortage of excellent classic multiplayer games that players would not mind playing again. Here’s a list of more such games that could use a revival.

And now we cannot help but hope it comes back someday!

Quake III Arena

This ID Software-developed title was something players could not ignore if they wanted to. An insanely fun game about not just killing each other in deathmatches, but also jumping by firing rocket launchers at your feet.

It would be fun if this game somehow got a new life.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory

Fans of Return to Castle Wolfenstein decided to give their favorite title a new life through custom servers. The game, of course, offered them a fun way to duke it out against each other. It was even updated with exciting maps such as Gold Rush, Siwa Oasis, and Atlantic Seawall Battery; Europe Campaign: Rail Gun, Würzburg Radar, and Fuel Dump.

Of course, it might still be alive, but getting an official touch would feel much better.

Rainbow Six New Vegas

Ubisoft was once a company that made genuinely good games. They made experiences full of ideas that kept a game feeling fresh hours after people started playing it. New Vegas featured an exciting co-op mode and a multiplayer mode.

It would be fun to see Ubisoft revive this game someday.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

Another Ubisoft game with a co-op mode that is very fun to play and a multiplayer mode that supports up to 32 Players on PC. The Co-Op mode allows up to four players to complete the whole campaign with their friends.

Multiplayer mode allows players to compete against each other in numerous game modes.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

This Splinter Cell title is obviously a stealth action game, so what does it have to do with multiplayer? This game has a co-op mode, which gives players a separate campaign to enjoy with their friends. Then they also get access to a PVP mode called Spies vs. Mercenaries. One player hides, and two players seek.

One player has tools for stealth, and the other two have an arsenal of lethal weapons to kill the spy. It’s just too fun to play and too hard to put down.
