Reports claim Sea of Stars devs have started working on DLC

In a statement to Radio Canada, Sea of Stars game director Thierry Boulanger laid out some interesting revelations for fans. He shared that a larger team at their studio is currently working on an unannounced project, while a smaller one is looking into a DLC for their latest title. Many fans were astonished because the turn-based game was just launched last week, on August 29.

However, this is not a new thing for Sabotage Studio, who did something similar with their 2018 title, The Messenger. They released a DLC for the 2018 title the very next year. Notably, the team carried out a similar plan of action in 2019 as they are doing right now, with the larger team working on a new project. The 2019 huge team’s idea, on the other hand, became the popular Sea of Stars game.

‘Throes of the Watchmaker’ is the title of the Sea of Stars DLC. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the DLC will link The Messenger with Sea of Stars; as the latter is actually a prequel to the 2018 Sabotage Studio title.

The upcoming DLC is reportedly crowd-funded

Sabotage Studio’s Kickstarter campaign will fund the forthcoming DLC. The goal of this campaign, however, has already been achieved with $1.175 million raised. Sabotage Studio has made the DLC free for everyone who contributed to their crowd-funding campaign.

While development on the DLC is continuing, no timetable for its release has been set. With the game receiving stellar reviews, fans are expecting the DLC will enhance the game to further heights. Sea of Stars is currently available to play on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
