Sony and Insomniac games announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine at a PlayStation showcase a year ago. While most people were focused on the likes of Demon Souls remake and Spider-Man 2, Insomniac games dropped the announcement trailer for Wolverine and it pretty much stole the show.

It has been a while since both of those games were announced and we have already started getting leaks and rumors for the release date of Spider-Man 2. Even the actors working on Spider-Man 2 have started dropping hints about the greatness of this game and its probable release date.

Marvel’s Wolverine has been missing from the spotlight since its PlayStation showcase announcement and fans are not happy

While we have plenty to speculate on how good Spider-Man 2 would be and when its probable 2023 launch date is, we have nothing to go on for Wolverine. Both Sony and Insomniac games have been keeping any information regarding this game pretty close to their hearts.

With this silence, fans have started getting restless. They look for any speck of information they can find on this upcoming game.

Previously there were speculations that Wolverine might be released for Playstation 5 in 2023, the same year as Spider-Man 2. But some say this seems less possible as it is hard for a studio to release two big-budget titles at the same time.

Amidst all this there’s one post from a popular Twitter news source X-Men Updates has revealed that this game would not be seeing the light of day any time before 2025. Even though this has made some fans upset, they see it as a believable prediction. But fans are not very enthusiastic about this revelation.

It seems like Spider-Man 2 is the current priority for Insomniac games and they would get to work on Wolverine once they are done with it.

There is a lot riding on Marvel’s Wolverine

Marvel’s Spider-Man was an instant hit back in 2018. It won many hearts with its gameplay and story. But to many fans, it was way easier than Wolverine. People already had some ideas about how the superhero would control and how he would fight.

But Wolverine is a different beast altogether. There are very few games solely focused on this character, and his way of dealing with his enemies is way different from Spider-Man. People are expecting him to be very brutal and some are also expecting the upcoming game to have a mature rating.
