The Nintendo Switch successor, or what’s popularly known as the Nintendo Switch 2, will be announced any time now. Over the last couple of years, there have been several rumors regarding this console. People have come forward and talked about its specs, features, display, and launch titles.

Some have even talked about how this game would be backward compatible with the original Switch titles. And a recent legal document has suggested that this new console is all set to get a Call of Duty title. But one wonders what kind of port this upcoming Call of Duty game will be.

Ubisoft, too, has jumped on this bandwagon to launch many of their popular games as Nintendo Switch ports. From the Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy to Black Flag and Rogue, the Nintendo Switch has indeed become a home for these ports.

The only major series that never saw a release on Nintendo’s Hybrid console is Call of Duty. Activision never saw it as important to bring their titles to Nintendo’s hybrid machine. Maybe they thought it was too underpowered, or they simply decided there were not enough players on the Switch to play these games.

Whatever the reason might have been, it seems to have finally lost its reason to stay away. Thanks to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, news has started spreading that Call of Duty is coming to the Nintendo Switch. This game would be coming to this console, as Microsoft signed a document mentioning that they would bring COD to Nintendo’s platform for the next 10 years.

One must wonder how that game would run and look on the Nintendo Switch or its successor. Some suggest it would be a watered-down port of the next game in the series. While others wonder if this game would just be a glorified console port of Call of Duty Mobile.

These claims do not seem very reasonable, as Nintendo Switch 2 is really going to be much more powerful than the current one. This means Activision would not have to think about it. If that console is powerful enough, Call of Duty would appear on this console in its full glory, multiplayer included.
