Xbox boss Phil Spencer would receive the 2023 Andrew Yoon Legend Award

The New York Videogame Critics Circle announced in November 2022 that the Xbox CEO Phil Spencer would receive the 2023 Andrew Yoon Legend Award. The Annual New York Game Awards present this legendary honor to people or organizations for their excellent work in the gaming industry.

In the past, the recipients of this award include names like Tim Schafer, Jade Raymond, Todd Howard, Hideo Kojima, and Reggie Fils-Aime. Further, the American video game company, Rockstar Games, has also received this prestigious honor.

The Xbox chief was glad to receive the 2023 Andrew Yoon Legend Award, as he wrote on Twitter, “Honored to be recognized by the New York Game Awards with the Andrew Yoon Legend Award. In this remarkable industry, our work to innovate is never done, and I’m committed to keeping at it.“

Further, people like former PlayStation boss Shawn Layden and former Nintendo boss Reggie Fils-Aime congratulated Spencer. The former Nintendo boss is also the previous recipient of the Andrew Yoon Legend Award and will host the award ceremony this year.
