Xbox releases unique Tartan controller to thank the Scotland community for 20 successful years
Microsoft thanked the 20th anniversary of the original Xbox console’s launch in Scotland in a unique way. The company has released the brand-new tartan theme controller to respect the traditional Scottish culture. The controller is produced by Gordon Nicholson Kiltmakers and woven by Lochcarron, Scotland’s oldest weaving mill.

Furthermore, it’s a hand-crafted, ultra-custom controller meaning the tartan isn’t printed on plastic either, as the actual material was laid on top of the controller. Gordon, the owner of Gordon Nicholson Kiltmakers, said, ” I was very excited and honored to be asked in the first place. I looked at it as a challenge to get a tartan, which is going to be quite unique onto a controller.”
