Phil Spencer, the Xbox boss and CEO of Microsoft Gaming, has made it clear that the majority of his focus, for 2022, will remain on making Starfield the most played title of Bethesda. While the developer has offered amazing IPs in the past, the upcoming open-world RPG will be their first original entry in years.

It seems like Xbox Game Studios’ priority is going to be Starfield, especially for the Xbox series. Phil Spencer, along with Todd Howard, wants to make it Bethesda’s best game of all time.

But the biggest question for any curious gamer who’s waiting for Starfield is: will it also arrive for PlayStation, at some point in the future, despite being an Xbox exclusive?

Xbox: Starfield to turn PlayStation gamers off!

The simple answer to the aforementioned question is a clear no. The sci-fi title won’t release for PlayStation. In fact, Bethesda has already mentioned it in the past that Starfield will remain on the Xbox only. This means it won’t arrive on Sony’s platform, even in the distant future!

This can be understood simply by the fact that Phil wants to make it a huge deal for not only Bethesda but also the Xbox line-up. Since it will only launch for the Microsoft console and PC, Starfield means a lot for its developing team. And they don’t want to leave any stone unturned in making it their best game to date.

Phil Spencer mentioned this exact thing while discussing Starfield with Axios Gaming’s Stephen Totilo:

“So, when I look at the teams, when Todd and I talk about Starfield, it’s: ‘How do we make sure this is the most-played Todd Howard game ever?’”

He also emphasized the achievements of recent Xbox releases like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 and how they have amassed a huge player count. So they have a roadmap planned for Starfield on the Xbox platform and how they will make it a success on the console; they seem unlikely to divert from their plans.

But again, most of the Xbox-based games so far have earned a huge revenue for Microsoft while being available for the PlayStation consoles. So it will be highly interesting to see Starfield making its debut on Sony’s platform.

What do you think about this situation? Do you think Starfield will bring good fortune for Xbox? Let us know in the comments.
