Tokyo Game Show 2023 brings a new push for the Xbox Game Pass and indie games
The biggest takeaway for fans was the spotlight falling on the Xbox Game Pass and indie games. With TGS 2023, Xbox have a new push for their Game Pass subscription on PlayStation’s home turf, as they look to get more people interested in the service.
Xbox’s focus lies on the new games coming to the service. Popular titles such as the Ace Attorney Trilogy, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Persona 3 Reload, Persona 5 Tactica, and Hotel Barcelona will all be coming to Game Pass. What is even more incredible is that the titles that have not been released will come to Game Pass on day one. For Game Pass owners, there could not be better news!
Xbox’s Digital Showcase also brought forth a lot of positive news about indie games. Most prominently, these came for two games: Altheia: Wrath of Aferi and My Lovely Empress. Both games come from indie devs putting in work to create an enjoyable experience. My Lovely Empress has about ten people working on the title, as one dev went on to explain.
In its entirety, the Xbox Digital Showcase became quite a hit, especially for indie developers. With their full potential on display, fans could not be more excited about the work indie developers are doing!
