John Cena steals the show during a stream

We have already seen the famous WWE superstar collaborate with Overwatch 2 for the character called ‘Enigma’ in the Invasion DLC. This time, he made an appearance in an Overwatch stream by a popular streamer.

Twitch streamer and former Overwatch Pro Brandon Larned, aka Seagull, was streaming Overwatch 2: Invasion. In the stream, Seagull was completely engrossed in the game when the wrestler-turned-actor took over the screen. As Seagull and his teammate pushed in on the enemy, the screen got taken over by John Cena talking about the Invasion DLC. No, not with his iconic “The Time Is Now” theme song, but in a different way.

As Cena’s face took over the screen, his character Enigma started giving a message to all the Overwatch players out there. Cena said, “Invasion has begun. We need you to join the fight against Null Sector’s army to save Rio, Gothenburg, and Toronto. The world is counting on you, hero. So share your most heroic moment from Invasion story missions on social with #OverwatchInvasion, and you might be immortalized with a hero portrait by an Overwatch artist.”

He also asked John Cena to leave the screen as they were pushing in on an enemy boss. After Cena was done with the advertisement, Seagull and his teammates started laughing at the unfortunate timing of the ad.

However, this is not the first time this has happened. Cena was also seen taking over a lot of sponsored streams just like Seagull’s.

Why is John Cena invading sponsored streams of Overwatch 2?

John Cena had been invading a lot of sponsored streams as part of Blizzard Entertainment’s marketing campaign for the August 10 release of the Invasion DLC. The streams would get glitches that contained cryptic messages about the coming DLC.
