Call of Duty is one of the most famous and best-selling franchises in the world of gaming. The military FPS has a huge audience of loyal fans and is highly demanded as a gift during the holiday season. Many veterans of the series started their journey by getting the game as a Christmas gift from their parents. 

The older titles of the franchise may be a little outdated in terms of mechanics and visuals, but they lack no charm. So much so that some fans even prefer the older game compared to the newer ones. But one fan never thought that their parents will be one of them.

The worldwide phenomenon, that is Call of Duty, is an FPS shooter that simulates modern-day military combat. The first game was released back in 2003. It focused on the real-life historical event of World War II. But as the franchise evolved with time, the game changed its focus to a much more modern and futuristic setting. The gaming franchise is published by Activision. one of the most acclaimed entries in the series is Modern Warfare 2.

The game received such love and praise from fans and critics that it has been remade once again. The latest remaster of the game is released this year that has the same name as the original. Obviously, this causes some confusion among players and users who aren’t updated about the series. But sometimes it results in some hilarious situations.

This confusion may have made the Christmas of a fan very unexpected because when they opened their presents, hoping for the brand new CoD game. They received the original 2010 version of Modern Warfare 2 for the PlayStation. They Shared the mischief by their parents on Reddit.

A Reddit user said, “They were probably really glad They got a great deal on it”. Another user even claimed that they got lucky as this is the “better modern warfare 2 tbh”. The fans didn’t shy away from joking about the hilarious incident and meme about how the user got trolled by their own parents.
