In the first seven hours of its launch, Threads crossed over 10 million new users. Multiple online celebrities like MrBeast and Pokimane made their way on the new Twitter rival.

MrBeast even pitched himself to be the future CEO of the app. While the position of CEO looks like a long shot for now, Mark Zuckerberg would try to make him the face of Threads. And his growing popularity on this app might make the decision easier.

MrBeast sets a record of reaching a million followers first on Threads

Within two days of the app’s launch, multiple celebs have flocked to the Meta app. This fresh social media app also started the race to become the most popular influencer on the platform. The competition for the lead in this case was between none other than YouTube icon MrBeast and the Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. However, the Guinness World Records posted that the YouTuber has outshined the Meta CEO in the million followers race.

The YouTuber also responded to the official handle of Guinness World Records, jokingly asking them not to reveal on Twitter that he is cheating on the app. Shortly after MrBeast, Mark Zuckerberg also reached a million followers on the platform.

At the time of writing, MrBeast has earned over 2.5 million followers while the Meta CEO is nearing two million followers. With the YouTuber announcing a giveaway on the Threads app, his following and Threads user base is sure to increase exponentially.

What this huge spike in followers of the YouTuber means for the Threads app

Threads presented itself to the world as an alternative to Twitter. Some might deem it to be successful in doing so. Meta has brought over a significant amount of users from Instagram into their new platform. And with MrBeast attaining this level of success, other influencers are also expected to get a huge amount of followers.

Threads has also capitalized on its entry at the right time when the recent decisions of Twitter are under fire. This would also mean that Twitter would need to make some fan-demanded changes to attract users back to their platform. A key player in the change can be MrBeast who has regularly interacted with Twitter owner Elon Musk.
