Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: Avid Fans Dress Up As Amazon Employees To Steal Game Copies

The launch of a new game is an incredible period, filled with anticipation and excitement. After all, it is not every day that a massively hyped title releases. As The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom built up to its launch, fans could barely contain themselves. Recently, Nintendo released information about an absurd and a little hilarious incident that occurred before the game’s release.

The sequel to the hit 2017 Breath of the Wild was right around the corner in early May when two men decided the wait was too long and they needed the game immediately, even before its release. In doing so, not only did they not get their hands on the game, but had to face some severe consequences as well!

After waiting for over five years for the sequel to Breath of the Wild, these two individuals decided the wait till release was too long. Subsequently, to gain access to copies of the game, they decided to get these copies early by reaching out directly to the distributor.

The two found employment with an Amazon subcontractor and took jobs at Amazon warehouses. They carried out their duties as part of their job normally until copies of Tears of the Kingdom came to the warehouse in advance to facilitate delivery quickly. Then two men picked up copies of the game and disappeared from their jobs as soon as the game came into the warehouse!

After making off with copies of the game, the men did not show up to work. When the sub-contractor reached out to them, the numbers provided to him turned out to be one of the thieves’ mothers!

In a recent Nintendo release, the thieves’ mother revealed that her son skipped work to play a game he got. It did not take the detective long to figure out what the game in question was. As the employers got wind of the scheme, both men faced consequences.

In addition to being dismissed from employment, the two had to reimburse their employer for stolen property. The investigation revealed one of them stole more than just a copy of the game. One thief also took a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. Authorities assume he did so to later sell and make a profit from it. The hunger to play the new game brought severe consequences to the two.
