Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Fans Are Still Disappointed With Nintendo Not Letting Them Do This – “They Had One Job”

The Legend of Zelda fans are disappointed not to have a special feature in the gameplay. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, fans mentioned how sad they were not being able to pet the dogs! Now it looks like developers didn’t pay much attention to this request. And Tears of the Kingdom still doesn’t allow players to do so. Such a sad thing for sure, right?

Now dogs have been loyal and favorite companions to humans for many years. Even games have evolved in a way that the gameplay offers an almost real experience to the players. Now, the option to pet dogs truly seemed essential to them in this matter. Since the developers didn’t offer the opportunity in Tears of the Kingdom, fans are utterly disappointed.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom doesn’t allow players to do this special thing

Recently, one of the players from The Legend of Zelda community posted on their X (formerly Twitter) profile that they are truly disappointed seeing developers did not offer fans the feature of petting the dogs in Tears of the Kingdom gameplay. This person wrote- “It still breaks my heart that dogs can’t be pet in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.”

The bond between humans and dogs plays a great part in The Legend of Zelda franchise. In Breath of the Wild, players could approach a dog by standing closer to their area. And after some time a small animated heart appears above their head, which shows a sign of approval. And then players can feed the dog to get their assistance to find the treasure.

While such good boys and girls are all over the gameplay, players can’t pet the dogs for their kind and generous attitude. While, Tears of the Kingdom allows a similar approach, but it also restricts players from petting these good souls for assistance.

While Nintendo is returning to its roots formula, the Legend of Zelda fans appeared truly disappointed with developers. It is because they again missed out on the feature of petting animals in their latest game- “They had one job

Fans recollected the dog who stood by Link throughout his adventures in Breath of the Wild- “Worst we missed our favorite companion who stand by Link’s side.” People were sad seeing that despite having so many elements from The Breath of the Wild for improvisation, developers just chose to ignore it in Tears of the Kingdom.

Fans urged the community to become vocal against AAA game developers as they often ignore players’ requests.

Some people mentioned that they think developers didn’t allow it because players can be distracted from the actual game-“First they let you pet them and then you’ll want them to play fetch and do tricks. A line has to be drawn! ” People called the Tears of the Kingdom a budget title as it missed out on many exclusive features.

Fans believed Tears of the Kingdom can’t be called a GOTY contender if it doesn’t allow petting dogs- “If you can’t pet dogs in zelda, how is the game even in the conversation for GoTY?”

Fans’ frustration about this feature lacking in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is quite visible. However, apart from this, the game offers some mind-blowing adventures in Hyrule. So, even if one can’t pet the helpful dogs in the game, they can still find a great companion in them helping players find treasures. What do you think?
