Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Loses Top Ten Spot First Time Since Release

Since its release in May, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has ruled the hearts of fans. It was a smash hit right out the gate with fans calling it the perfect successor to Breath of the Wild. The game offered players to use their imagination and creativity to win battles in the game.
With just this simple offering, the Nintendo devs granted players a whole lot of fun during the summer. And the fans loved it too, as the game consistently charted in the top ten spot for sales. But it has now been replaced, and it is not a good sign as the Game Awards 2023 nears.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom falls off the Top 10 charts in the UK

The latest GfK Boxed Top Ten list had some shocking insights. The game which has been ruling the hearts of the fans had its first exit from the top 10 since its release. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom dropped out of the top ten, falling five spots to number 15. An interesting point to note, however, is that there has been no significant drop in sales for the title.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been selling almost the same amount of units since last week. This means the pace of the Zelda title has not slowed down, but rather other titles are receiving a grand reception. However, this was an expected outcome as the month of October is welcoming the release of many heavy-weight titles.

Titles like Spider-Man 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Alan Wake 2 are coming out soon which are expected to disrupt the top 10 even further. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was thrown out of the top 10 charts by a title released this month, Lords of the Fallen. This has raised concerns over Zelda’s title run for the Game of the Year 2023 spot.
