Arlo talked about the game turning more into a sandbox rather than an action-adventure game. Nintendo team is making the game more open-world and experiment-friendly. This, he believes, will drive hardcore Zelda fans away.

He proposed a remedy to this problem by stating that the new sequel needs a better structure. The whole story of Breath of the Wild revolved around incidents told minimally. If the sequel also has a minimal story, the Zelda game would lose its essence. Adding more stories and characters would be a great way to gain more players. Talking about characters, new characters of Tears of the Kingdom also got leaked recently.

He stated the Fuse ability will cure the weapon breakage curse of Breath of the Wild. But it can only happen if Tears of the Kingdom does not put any restrictions on the ability. With the open world of Hyrule, Fuse ability can be a major turning point in many battles. Even casual players can have fun messing around in the environment with this power as well.

Tears of the Kingdom also need a healing system. Players could heal by just clicking on a menu in Breath of the Wild. It encouraged players to become potion collectors in the prequel. Boss fights were winnable if you had ample consumables, destroying the excitement of defeating the boss at low HP. A way to solve this problem is by allowing a specific number of collectibles.
