Despite being released six years ago, BOTW still has a huge fanbase. One of the reasons for being acknowledged as the greatest game of all time is indeed its open-world mechanics. Unlike many open-world games with endless quests, BOTW mentioned the endpoint right from the start and trusted the player to make their own way there.
Not to mention, several players are still discovering new ways to solve puzzles and secrets of the game even after six years of release. The game lets players decide how to climb the Zenith of the Temple of Time or descend to the deepest abyss of Hyrule. Last but not least, BOTW lets players deeply connect with Link and learn from their failures.
