Now this game is once again back on the headlines for making a new record for its publisher Nintendo. Tears of the Kingdom reportedly reached a record quarter for Nintendo’s Switch.

Reports suggest that this game sold more than 18.51 million copies globally by the 30th of June this year. Nintendo confirmed that within three months of the launch, The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom reached a worldwide sale of the highest level through its first-party software. In fact, the company claimed it to be a debut record for Nintendo’s Switch.

Tears of the Kingdom’s amazing gameplay and beautiful map surely stole the fans’ hearts. Now with this new record for Switch, Tears of the Kingdom definitely earned the title of fan favorite of the year. The Legends of Zelda franchise’s new release also brought a record amount of revenue worth $1.49 billion. Nintendo announced that after 2019’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Tears of Kingdom is the new game setting a higher sales record for the company. 

After its release on 12th May, The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sold over 10 million copies globally within three days. It surely confirmed that fans were really excited and satisfied with this new production in The Legends of Zelda franchise. Nintendo shared that after Tears of Kingdom’s release, the company shipped over 3 million copies of Switch units within three months. Nintendo recorded it as 13.9% of the overall sales of 2023, which now increased to $129.53 million.
