This took them to figure out the release dates based on a code hidden in the reveal trailer. It seems there is new information that reveals details about one villain in the game. ESRB released the rating given to the Insomniac title. With a T rating, standing for Teen or above the age of 13, it seems Venom will not be as brutal as fans may expect.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gets a T rating

The ESRB is responsible for providing new releases with game ratings. These ratings are used to keep younger audiences from being exposed to mature content in games. As a result, these ratings give a pretty good idea of the kind of content in-game. The general rule of thumb with these is the lower the rating, the lesser the gore, and blood, or any mature content at all.

The rating Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received was T, standing for Teens and above. Given these ratings are pretty accurate in terms of what kind of content is in the game, it looks one Spider-Man 2 villain may not be as brutal as expected.

As the reveal trailer showed, the Venom symbiote brought up aggression within Peter. Consequently, fans assumed Venom would feature much more brutal gameplay. However, with this rating, the game will probably feature more basic combat features. ESRB wrote on its website, “Characters mostly punch, kick, and throw each other during fights” in T-rated games.

Venom’s aggressive behavior is usually accompanied by brutal combat in the movies as well as comics, which has led to many fans’ disappointment. However, despite this, it does not mean combat will not be aggressive. It looks like combat will play similarly to the last game, only with Venom getting aggressive moves that stick within the T rating.

Fans are excited to see Venom in-game

Venom remains an iconic part of the Spider-Man franchise in its entirety. However, with the latest update in terms of the rating, fans do not know what to expect. Previously, Game Director Brian Horton mentioned, “I think you saw it in the real power, the strength, the transformation of Peter’s moves in that gameplay reveal. We column the acrobatic improviser, him and Miles. You can tell there’s a lot more strength, more real power, and aggression which you saw in the moves. It’s not just what happens at gameplay. It’s the story and how it plays out. There is much more of that journey.

With suspense over who will be playing host to the symbiote, it seems there is more mystery to how Venom will play in-game. Some of the most iconic Venom hosts in the comics include Eddie Brock, Normie Osborn, Deadpool, Flash Thompson, and lastly Peter Parker. So, there’s no shortage of people who could be piloting the symbiote villain.
