IShowSpeed went crazy as his idol and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo gave him a ‘Shoutout’ in the latest Manchester United X Adidas commercial. The YouTuber screamed his lungs out as his name was mentioned multiple times in the ad. 

Darren Watkins Jr. aka IShowSpeed is an American gaming YouTuber, soccer athlete, hip-hop musician, comedian, reactor, occasional vlogger, and variety live-streamer, currently residing in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also known by his nickname Speedy or simply Speed in the community.

Speedy is a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. He has said on many occasions that he sees Ronaldo as his idol and he was motivated to start playing soccer because of him. Speedy even made a full-fledged music video called, “Ronaldo” as a tribute to his inspiration.

It is very apparent how much Darren adores the Soccer player. So it wasn’t surprising that the young influencer went crazy when he saw his idol mention his name in a new commercial. Even though it wasn’t a shoutout at all. 

Did Cristiano Ronaldo actually give IShowSpeed a shoutout?

On November 6, 2022, Speedy posted a video on his secondary channel called Speedy Boykins. The video was titled, “Ronaldo Shouted Me Out…”. In the video, Speedy reacted to a recently launched commercial. The commercial was the latest collaboration between Adidas and Manchester United FC.

The commercial featured many legendary players, from the club’s history, such as David Beckham, Eric Cantona, and current superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo. In the Commercial, the players were stating different tag words of the brand such as Skill, Consistency, and Speed.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the one who had the script to say speed. And that was enough to activate Speedy’s fuse. He screamed his lungs out, witnessing his name “Speed” being uttered from the mouth of his idol.

Speedy Updates uploaded the clip of Speedy going crazy. In the caption, they said, “Bro believes anything.” The reply section was very interesting. The fans were making all kinds of speculations. Some even said Ronaldo saying Speed was actually scripted, others made fun of his shenanigans. But some were also very proud, as they think this whole reaction was very wholesome.
