Known is the fact that video games are merely the imaginations of human beings. It is just an art form that projects the bases of creativity. Although, a barrier between the virtual world and the real world, one often finds resemblances between the two. Indeed, such an instance occurred when American tennis star Noah Rubin explained what it felt like playing against Roger Federer.

Roger Federer is an iconic personality in the Tennis world. Recently, the 20-time Grand Slam winner announced his retirement from the sport, leaving many tennis lovers in tears. Nonetheless, Noah Rubin defines his encounter with Roger Federer and the gaming world would be proud to know it.

While playing at the Australian Open in 2017, Noah Rubin got the opportunity to face Roger Federer. Moreover, he described the experience, unlike anyone that might have thought of after facing the legendary tennis player. As to him, it felt like playing a video game.

Roger Federer had the finesse of a computer game

As reported by tennishead, Noah said, “It was amazing playing Federer. I don’t think a lot of people remember but I actually had to qualify for that. I played three guys, two of them were inside the top 100 who had to go through qualifying which doesn’t usually happen.”

Furthermore, he said, “Then I played a fellow American in Bjorn Fratangelo and that was my first full five set match so I feel like I almost got something out of that tournament, then suddenly here I am playing in front of 14 thousand people on Rod Laver Arena playing Roger Federer.”

While it seems his journey to facing Roger Federer was no less than a build-up of a video game’s storyline, he finally admitted about his interaction with Roger, off and on the field. He said, “Obviously in the locker room but nothing like that, so playing him was kind of like playing a computer game. It was super strange but being the New Yorker I am I still wanted to kick his ***!”

All in all, he exclaimed that what Roger brought to the table was different and often made the opponent feel slow. Given these points, it can be said that Federer was as perfect as a nicely shaped computer game. And who knows, it could be the secret recipe behind his accomplishments.
