As people reeled from the incredible story woven by Santa Monica Studios, there was talk of an adaptation. Given the massive universe, the adaptation was a TV show instead of a movie. Recent developments in the show made an incredible casting claim involving Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

With game adaptations taking off in recent years, it was not long before the idea for a God of War series came to light. Amazon Studios quickly picked it up. However, Cory Barlog shut down these rumors on Twitter. In fact, he went as far as saying he had never heard of this casting choice! It is safe to say if the creative director for the studios that developed the game does not know of this casting choice; it is most likely just a rumor.

The question still remains over who will play Kratos in the adaptation. In the games, the character was first played by Terrence Carson till God of War 3. In 2018’s God of War, Christopher Judge took the reins for the character. Judge’s performance as Kratos drew the attention of many critics. Along with critical acclaim, he also won plenty of awards for his performance. Judge wants to play the character in the show as well. Fans seemed to love the work he did on the last two God of War titles. Moreover, because he already lent his voice and took part in motion capture, he seems perfect for the job.
