The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular consoles of this generation. Its popularity is evident from the fact that it is currently the third-best-selling video game console of all time. It’s also commendable that the game is still selling pretty well even after around seven years of its launch.

Gamescom 2023 was something else, and in light of E3 going down under this showcase, it became something to look forward to for fans. And it delivered too. Fans got a bunch of announcements and some updates on already-announced games. And during this showcase, somewhere in a conference room, some people got their first look at the Nintendo Switch successor.
This news came from Jez Corden, who was at the show. Even though he was personally at the showcase, he heard rumors about this small presentation held for selective journalists and developers.

It makes sense for Nintendo to do all of it so quietly, too. They might not want to repeat the mistakes they made with the Nintendo Wii U. A console that was a direct follow-up to their massively successful Wii. It was unsuccessful because Nintendo did not take the time to make developers and fans familiar with it. The console failed because half the population did not even understand if it was a console or an add-on for the Wii.

If this is indeed factual, then the remainder of 2023 is going to be a wild roller coaster ride. There’s going to be a huge Nintendo Direct, and then there’s going to be a State of Play showcasing games that were removed from the last one. There would also be the revelation of that long-rumored PlayStation 5 Slim console.
Let’s see how much of this stuff turns out to be true. But the idea of getting all these announcements is sure pretty exciting!
