Apex Legends puts the September Soiree on hold
DUMMIE’s Big Day is a returning LTM, where instead of the legends, players have to pick a dummy like the ones found at the firing range. These dummies typically have the same set of tactical and ultimate abilities.
While the tactical ability drops random loot, the ultimate dispatches a group of decoys or has healing effects. Due to similar abilities, it ultimately boils down to the player’s gun skills and strategic positioning.

However, within a few hours of going Live, DUMMIE’s Big Day ran into some server issues, causing Respawn to pause the party. Respawn confirmed in a tweet that they had encountered a game-breaking bug that caused server crashes.
Out of concern for their game and players, the devs decided to withdraw the LTM. They are currently devising a workaround for the glitch.
“We’re hitting pause on the party. After DUMMIES Big Day went live, we discovered a bug that caused server crashes if a player AFKed on character select. For the health of the game and our players, we’re turning it off and working on a fix with details to come as we have them.”
