The 2021 Open Championship is currently underway at the Royal St. George’s and Bryson DeChambeau had a disappointing opening round. He scored one-over-71 and remained on the bottom half of the leaderboard. Bryson had an agonizing day with the driver and mostly found himself in the hay than the fairway.

DeChambeau then made some strong comments about his driver in the post-round interview. And for that, he received a lot of criticism and was trolled by many on social media. Everyone was awaiting Brooks Koepka’s reply. But it was someone else who came up with a humorous comment on the issue.

Bryson DeChambeau’s comments about his cobra driver prompted the manufacturing company to respond. But surprisingly, Koepka remained silent on the issue. However, Justin Thomas weighed in on DeChambeau VS Cobra in the comments section of ‘ziregolf’s’ Instagram page. The post featured Bryson’s comment followed by the response from Cobra representative Ben Schomin. He was also the caddie for DeChambeau at Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Thomas wrote, “Never would’ve thought swinging at 135+ mph it’d be hard to drive it straight….. You’d think Mr physics would know that!”

Although Justin Thomas was not the only pro to take a dig at DeChambeau. Dylan Frittelli, also in the Open Championship, commented on the same Instagram post saying, “Indians and arrows again?!”

Former World No.1 Luke Donald also chimed in by saying, Don’t bite the hand that feeds you… comes to mind.

Previously Bryson had commented, saying, “the driver sucks.” But Bryson apologized later, saying it was very unprofessional. But the damage was already being done, and the Cobra representative Ben Schomin compared him to an 8-year-old kid and gave him a befitting reply.
