The Senior Open Championship is currently underway at the Sunningdale Berkshire in England. A total of 144 senior golfers are battling it out there to win this European Tour event. Darren Clarke from Northern Ireland was leading the tournament after round 2 by one stroke. He scored -8 in two rounds, while the Spanish golfer Miguel Angel Jimenez was at -4.
The course is decent in terms of difficulty, and the scoring has been on the higher side. There were lots of birdies and eagles on the first two days at the Senior Open Championship. Round 3 is currently underway, and there is plenty of exciting action happening on the course. One such incident took place on par-5 first.

Miguel Angel Jimenez scored an outstanding albatross on the very first hole itself. Although the par-5 first hole is one of the most straightforward ones, making an albatross on any hole is an incredible achievement. Miguel smashed his driver right in the middle of the fairway and then had an approach of about 147 yards.

He then aimed right at the flagstick and flushed his 8-iron to get the ball right inside the hole. This was the first albatross of the Senior Open Championship, and Miguel Angel Jimenez took a giant leap from -4 to -7 to get himself to T4 with this unbelievable play.

But unfortunately, he dropped a shot with a bogey on the second hole. However, he again gained back his momentum with a birdie on the third. So, Miguel has had a rollercoaster of a start so far to this third round.
The 57-year-old golfer has 21 European Tour wins and has been a part of two Ryder Cup-winning teams. Additionally, he has also won on the PGA Tour Champions on ten occasions and once on the European Senior Tour.

Currently, Jerry Kelly and Darren Clarke are tied at the top with a score of -9. Spanish golfer Miguel is just a couple of strokes behind them and will look to be at the top going into the final round on Sunday.
