“Everyone Gives You a Different Challenge”- Rafael Nadal on Playing Against Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic

Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal has been playing tennis for a very long time now. After playing over 1,000 matches throughout his career, many tennis fans are wondering which opponent he likes playing against. In a recent Q&A session, he answered this question.

In a recent live event on Facebook called #GetRafaMoving, Rafael Nadal answered many questions asked by tennis fans. One fan asked him to choose his favorite opponent to play against. The Spaniard replied by saying,

“My favorite opponents are one that I win against normally. Well, I don’t know, I enjoy the challenges to playing against Roger of course, against Novak, against Andy, against David Ferrer. I think there are a lot of great opponents and everyone gives you a different challenge and you need to adjust your game to be competitive. I don’t have a favorite opponent, I just enjoy the fact that every day we compete against a different one.”

Rafa has not been able to compete against opponents in a while. This is due to the coronavirus pandemic that has suspended tennis for the last few months. But the good news is, this is going to change soon since the ATP Tour is set to return in August.

The ATP has come out with an extremely grueling schedule where the two Grand Slams – the US Open and the French Open – will happen in the same month. This is has led to some questions about whether Rafa will play in both.

Recent events have suggested that Rafa might skip the US Open for the French Open. He has already confirmed that he will play the Madrid Open which starts a day after the US Open. This makes it very unlikely that he will play the US Open. While most of us might hope for Rafa to play both Slams, this might not happen.
