Franz Tost, the Alpha Tauri boss, has recently talked about their star driver Pierre Gasly, who was pretty much phenomenal throughout the 2021 season for the Red Bull sister team.

Alpha Tauri fielded Gasly and Japanese Yuki Tsunoda in the 2021 season. The Frenchman picked up 110 points and P9 in the drivers’ standings to help the team give Alpine a run for their money for P5 in the constructors’ standings. The outfit will go ahead with the same lineup for the 2022 season as well.

The 26-year-old has grown more into himself at Alpha Tauri. Talking about his maturity, Tost further stated, “From the driving he has now the experience how to set-up the car, how to manage the tires, he can read the race, which is very important.”

Gasly became a household name in F1 when he replaced Daniel Ricciardo after the Aussie left for Renault in 2019. Unfortunately, his stint at Red Bull was cut short as he failed to meet the expectations. He was replaced midseason and came back to Alpha Tauri (Toro Rosso back then)

From there on Gasly has delivered decent performances for the team. He also picked up his first career win at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix.
