Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo has taken a rather different approach and has partnered with a fellow Aussie to develop a fan favorite drink.

The jolly Australian is a big fan of the ‘Shoey’ and has been seen celebrating his podium finish by sipping his champagne from his shoes. Now, the 8 Grand Prix race winner has teamed up with the famous winemaker Peter Munro and Australian producer St. Hugo to create his own Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.

Ricciardo recalls connecting with St. Hugo during one of the Australian Grand Prix pre-covid and instantly hit it off. Danny Ric said, “It was at the track through F1 at Melbourne and we got connected—but I’d known St. Hugo pretty much all my life—and then it all took off pretty quickly after that.”

Peter Munro describes Daniel’s DR3 as a modern take on Australian Shiraz and explains the difference between a classic Shiraz. He explains how the wine is similar to Daniel’s and has powerful, ripe, and generous flavors in it.

“It’s modern in that it’s probably a little more fruit-forward. Daniel is very much about having this powerful, ripe, generous fruit and so that generosity comes through in the wines”

How Does Daniel Ricciardo’s Life After Formula One Look?

The McLaren driver’s future has been in the spotlight with all the drama involving Oscar Piastri’s contract situation at Alpine. The 33-year-old admits that like every good thing, this will come to an end as well.

However, he wants to enjoy every minute on the grid and keep learning. He also mentioned he’d be interested in growing the DR3 wine in the future if the opportunity persists.

“I give it a bit of thought, but for now if I’m having fun and and enjoying the opportunity and learning from it. I’ll continue to do it and if it grows into something that I can continue after F1, awesome.”
