Carlos Sainz Explains Impressive Dynamic With Ferrari F1 Teammate Charles Leclerc

Ferrari has always been known for having world-class drivers on the team. And this season, they have the talented driver duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz on board. Moreover, Leclerc is a Ferrari driver academy graduate and has been the driver for the Italian F1 team since 2019. Meanwhile, his Spanish teammate Carlos Sainz joined the team last season after leaving McLaren.

In a very short time, both drivers have showcased a very positive relationship. This teamwork was fruitful for Ferrari last season, finishing third, ahead of rivals McLaren. Sainz revealed in a recent podcast that they both have a lot in common and sharing time together helped them have such good teamwork.

Sainz shared on a podcast, “I think we have an honestly good relation away from the track. And we, we are actually similar guys in terms of the things we like to do away from the track. And it allows us to have a lot of conversations about life away from the track, and we are genuinely having fun with each other, playing paddle, playing poker in the aeroplane, chess, we play anything that we really enjoy quite a lot.

“And inside the track have an honest respect for each other, and I really respect what Charles has done in his career and the way he drives and he approaches Formula One in general. I think that respect that mutual respect gives us a good relationship as teammates,” the Spaniard further continued.

Carlos Sainz extending the contract with Ferrari

Sainz joined the Italian side after spending only one season in the Orange outfits of McLaren. The Spaniard was a phenomenal signing for Ferrari. Along with Charles Leclerc, the Spaniard helped the Prancing Horse finish third on the 2021 constructor table. Therefore, the Maranello side is planning to extend the contract with the 27-year-old.

Also, Sainz wants to continue wearing the Red outfit and negotiations are already going on. The Spaniard shared, “It is no secret that we are in the renewal phase what I don’t know exactly is when the time will come when we will agree on everything. We are all happy, there are steps forward.”

Carlos Sainz will soon appear with the Ferrari F1-75 along with teammate Charles Leclerc for the first race in Bahrain. The season opener is only a few days away now. It will be fascinating to see whether Ferrari wins the season opener and take a step closer to returning to the glory days.
