Carlos Sainz is in the form of his lifetime. The Spanish driver is the only one to break Max Verstappen’s dominant streak TWICE. Owing to this, people have a plethora of observations about the outgoing Ferrari driver. But the pressing question is if Charles Leclerc was a legit championship contender in the first half of 2022, how did Sainz rise to glory? The ex-Ferrari manager answers that for us.

Peter Windsor who has been a part of the Ferrari family in a managerial role often takes to his YouTube channel to conduct a live stream discussing the ongoings in the F1 circus. When asked about the improvements Carlos made 18 months ago, what did you notice that others did not? The viewer also noticed that commentators are now picking up on the prediction Windsor made a year and a half ago.

Windsor explained,

“I think he’s been disciplined in not trying to break super late and not trying to get the power on super early. He’s just letting the car tell him what it needs, what he’s not done is start driving like Charles and shorten the corners because he’s never done that. I think for him to start doing that now at this stage of his career would be a negative step probably although an interesting point.”
He further explained, “I’m thinking as I speak if he does have to sort of write off 2025 in a way that would be a good year for him to sort of rebuild his style a little and just capitalize on everything he’s just done but then shorten his corners because he has long Corners he uses more Road over a race distance than Charles Leclerc.”

While it has been answered that why is Sainz driving so brilliantly, another question is what is the effect of this cause.

“Carlos Sainz is messing everything up at Ferrari,”: Former F1 driver makes a chilling prediction

Ferrari signed

Lewis Hamilton in place of Carlos Sainz. And noting Sainz’s performance in this season last year’s, many have claimed that Ferrari might have retained the wrong driver. An ex-F1 driver has also affirmed the same after Sainz’s stellar performance in recent times and Australian GP win.

Former F1 driver Christian Danner said,

“At the moment, Carlos Sainz is messing everything up at Ferrari. Firstly, you’ve signed the wrong driver for next year. Hamilton is lagging, I’m much better. Secondly, if you want Hamilton, you’ve kept the wrong one because I’m faster. To that point, Sainz has had the beating of teammate Charles Leclerc–whom Ferrari signed to a new multi-year deal ahead of announcing Hamilton – in both races they have contested together so far in F1 2024, as Danner stressed that Leclerc is being made to look bad in this situation too. If I, as a future number one driver, am blown away by the fired driver, that’s difficult.”
