Ferrari Makes Video Game Dream a Reality as Motorsport Legacy Takes Radical New Form

Ferrari became the latest motoring giant to enter one of the biggest racing simulation video games. The Maranello outfit released their first-ever car designed specifically for the virtual motorsport world.
The Italian giants teamed up with Gran Turismo to release the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo. The vehicle is a futuristic single-seater that consists of a more extreme version of the V6 engine adopted in some of their cars like 296 GTB, 296 GT3, etc. It also powers the Ferrari 499P hypercar, which will be seen at next year’s Le Mans.

It is a beautiful and futuristic design that the Italian company has built. The concept car will be on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.
Ferrari posted on their Twitter, “The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is the result of a partnership between Ferrari and the Gran Turismo video game series: it’s Maranello’s first ever car designed for the virtual motor sport world. The entrance to the cockpit of the car is also intriguing. The car consists of a canopy windscreen for a door.
Did Ferrari CEO drop a hint about Mattia Binotto’s future?
Ferrari might have finished second in the season, but that may not be enough for team-principal Mattia Binotto to keep his job. The Italian was under the spotlight all year due to multiple reasons. Furthermore, their CEO Benedetto Vigna’s comments may add more fuel to the rumor mill regarding Binotto’s exit.
The Prancing Horses’ CEO, Benedetto Vigna said, “I said it after the last quarter, I am not satisfied with second place because second is first of the losers.”

Ferrari’s title drought has now reached 14 years. Kimi Raikkonen was the last driver to win the WDC with the Maranello team in 2007. Charles Leclerc finished second in the championship this year and he will now be looking to break the winless streak next year.
