Fernando Alonso asked Esteban Ocon to defend like a lion last year. While Ocon was not able to do that last year, he surely did it today in Monaco as he stood on the top step of the podium. While the Frenchman might’ve learned how to defend from Alonso, he certainly did not learn how to handle the media. Esteban Ocon’s post-race comments have left the fans in disgust as they stain his hard-worked podium in Monaco. Let’s see what the fans have to say.

Days after Laurent Rossi slandered Otmar Szafnauer and Co. for the terrible start to 2023, Esteban Ocon managed to put his Alpine P3 for the Monaco GP race. With Monaco being a track where qualifying is super crucial, Alpine had high hopes for finishing on the podium. The race start was good for Ocon and he managed to keep Carlos Sainz behind for the first stint and then performed an undercut to keep Sainz from overtaking him.

However, things got spicy once the rain hit the track, with drivers pitting on different laps for different tires. But Alpine kept their calm and made the right call. During the last stint on a wet track, Esteban Ocon managed to keep Lewis Hamilton behind him and secured the first podium for Alpine this year. The whole team was excited at it and celebrated like Ocon just won the Monaco GP.

Regardless, Esteban Ocon’s post-race celebration might’ve been a little too far, as it left the fans in disgust. After getting out of the car, David Coulthard interviewed the Top 3, including Esteban Ocon. The Frenchman, full of adrenaline and joy said, “Estie-Bestie’s on the Podium, Baby”. The name “Estie Bestie” was given to Ocon by his following after he joined Alpine owing to his friendly nature.

Nonetheless, fans were left disgusted after Ocon said those words as the Frenchman stained his picture-perfect podium finish. Fans bombarded social media, calling Ocon’s comments as cringe as they wished he had not said those words. Let’s see what the fans are saying:
