How will the 2022 F1 rules affect competitive racing?

The racing community is excited about the 2022 season, as it will mark the beginning of a new era in Formula One. The main reason fans are thrilled about the upcoming season is because of the fact that new rules will see to it that there is more competition within teams.

The regulations are implemented in such a way that the chances of certain teams having an edge over the other teams is minimal. A perfect example of this is when Mercedes used the DAS (Dual Axis System) that helped dominate the grid in 2020. However, it was banned for the following season.

For the 2022 season, F1 has seen that teams will have limited options when it comes to upgrading their spec parts. The list includes the fuel system, the gearbox, and the tea tray, which is located in the front of the car.

Furthermore, AlphaTauri will be using the gearbox, hydraulics, and rear suspension from Red Bull’s 2022 challenger. It doesn’t end there as Haas, Alfa Romeo, Williams, and Aston Martin will be utilizing a customer gearbox for the 2022 season.

Additionally, there will be a new 18-inch tire which also is classified as a spec part, so teams won’t have room for innovation that will give them an edge over their rival.
