F1 world will lose one of its patrolmen next year as Sebastian Vettel takes his leave from the sport. The German won 4 world championships on the spin during his time with Red Bull. Furthermore, he is also the third-highest race winner in the history of the sport with 53 wins. However, like many fans, Lewis Hamilton does not believe this is the last we see of Seb in F1.

Denial is often the first stage of grief and that is what most fans, including Lewis Hamilton, feel about Sebastian Vettel retiring. The German announced that he’d retire at this season’s end. While the news was announced a while back, fans are now starting to feel their emotions pouring over as Seb puts on his helmet for the last time in Abu Dhabi this weekend.

However, Lewis Hamilton is not ready to accept Sebastian Vettel leaving the sport just yet. In the interview conducted on Thursday, Lewis said that he’s seen drivers come back after retiring like Alonso and claimed, “You’re probably gonna come back!”

The German used this opportunity and proposed, “Maybe we can make a deal? We’ll speak outside! When you wanna get away, maybe I wanna come back!” to which Lewis replied, “And just swap, alternate!”

The heartwarming conversations between the two legends of the sport gave fans hope that maybe Lewis is right. Furthermore, there were also rumors surrounding Seb’s return to the sport with Audi in 2026.
